A BEAUTIFUL THING
Dr. Maureen Work remembers how cumbersome it was to get notes out with a paper system. In contrast she calls her experience with Medicfusion SOAP notes, “a beautiful thing.” And the proof is in the results. After recently wrapping up several personal injury cases, Dr. Work’s notes were printed, the statements finished and out the door within a few days of closing. “Already I’m starting to get checks back, which is incredible,” she said.
WHY EHR?
Prior to Medicfusion, Dr. Work did everything by paper. “I had been looking at some providers because everyone has to go with EHR eventually,” she explained. “However, I was not into
paying $10,000 for software.”
During her search, she met some Medicfusion users, including Dr. Kevin Sharp, Founder of Sharp Chiropractic. “He said he liked the system the more he used it,” she added. Buoyed by that reference and noting that the cost was not prohibitive, Dr. Work signed on with Medicfusion. “There’s always a learning curve,” she said of the system, “but once you watch the videos and do the training, you get the hang of it.”
GOOD VALUE
“The investment of time and money we’ve put into this system is well worth it. I love the ease of it,” Dr. Work noted, adding that her speed and proficiency with notes is rapidly improving. “About 90 percent of the time, all my notes are done when I leave for the day.”

Dr. Work, who has been in practice for 15 years, remembers all too well the day she discovered that notes from a PI case were never sent out and she never got paid. “I was so angry, so upset,” she said. “We have not had that issue since we started with Medicfusion.”
PRIME FEATURES
In addition to SOAP Notes, Dr. Work likes Medicfusion’s Transcription Library for objectives and assessments. “I have a couple of key phrases I use so it’s nice to just click and drop them in,” she said. She’s also a fan of the Reminder feature where patients automatically receive an email reminder about their appointments. “That’s a really nice benefit because we don’t have to call them, which saves a lot of time,” she explained.
