As a student in chiropractic college, Dr. Kris Chaffin visited over 100 offices to learn what he wanted for his practice. Mostly he discovered what he didn’t want. After seeing how paperwork bogged down clinics, he says, “I definitely didn’t want to deal with the paperwork hassle.”
CUTTING EDGE FROM DAY ONE
“I had a dream, a vision to be cutting edge,” he recalls. After checking out a number of software companies, he came across Medicfusion, which helped get him started with a paperless office using advanced technology. Today, four years after graduation, Dr. Chaffin runs a thriving practice. He’s frequently on the road adjusting golfers at the U.S. Open or basketball players for NBA teams. He and his staff see over 2,000 patients a month in their California clinic.

Looking back, Dr. Chaffin clearly recalls the hot buttons that grabbed him as he “demo-ed” Medicfusion. Right away he liked the Patient Portal. “It saves time for everyone – patients, doctors, staff – because patients fill out paperwork in advance,” he explains.
Another hot button was Medicfusion’s anywhere, anytime access. “You can manage your practice from your iPad, laptop or phone – anywhere you have Internet access,” he says. On a recent trip to New Orleans to adjust NBA players, he had no problem reviewing and updating his patient notes on the airplane ride back to California. “It’s really convenient to be mobile and portable.”
